Botanical Garden and Tijuca Forest by Jeep Tour

D.João VI, the king of Portugal, was passionate about exotic plants and founded the Botanical Garden in Rio de Janeiro in 1817. The noteworthy plant species in the botanical garden include imperial palm trees, huge water lilies (Victorias-Regias), and some redwood trees (Pau Brasil). These are almost extinct in the Atlantic forest. Visitors can see more than 500 kinds of orchids in its famous greenhouse.
The next stop of the tour is the biggest urban forest in the world, the Tijuca National Park. It is a fun tour conducted in very comfortable convertible jeeps, by a well-trained team. The guides specialise in ecotourism and there will be stops to enjoy breathtaking views of some great spots like Ipanema and Copacabana beaches, Guanabara Bay and Sugar Loaf Mountain.
On the way back to the hotel, the tour stops at Pepino beach, where participants will see hang gliders in flight, one of the most exciting Rio de Janeiro attractions.
- Pick-up in convertible jeeps at the hotel or meeting point;
- Visit to the Botanical Garden of Rio de Janeiro;
- Drive along Horto Florestal Road;
- Stop at Chinese View belvedere;
- Drive by Emperor's Table;
- Drive along Canoas Road;
- Drive by Pepino beach;
- Return to the hotel and end the tour.
