The best beaches for surfing in Rio de Janeiro are Barra da Tijuca, Prainha and Grumari on the West zone.  Inspired by surf icon Kelly Slater, many professional surfers of Rio started their careers by surfing in Rio de Janeiro's beaches. The most famous surfers of Brazil are Rico de Souza, Fabio Gouveia, Teco and Neco Padaratz and Bruno Santos. All of them have already surfed in Rio de Janeiro.
No previous experience is required for participating in this activity. Hotel pick-up/drop-off and fun board rental are included. We have the best instructors in town to teach beginners as well as assist experienced surfers.
